Main Duties • Drives vehicles safely for the transportation of authorised personnel to the respective project areas of Kigoma region. Collects and delivers mail, documents, and other items. • Meets official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities as required; • Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tries, performs minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean. • Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing. • Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident. • Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements

• At least One (1) year driving experience with a safe driving record is required.

• Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans and other kinds of motorized vehicles is a desirable.

• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and Kiswahili/Swahili (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of other local languages of Tanzania is desirable

• Experience with the United Nations Agencies or similar International organization would be desirable.
